11月28日、オーストラリアのクイーンズランド大学機械・鉱業工学部の学生グループの訪問対応を行いました。
今回の訪問は、短期プログラム「クイーンズランド大学-日本産業体験プログラム(UQ-JPIE)」の一環として行われました。
学生達は九州大学で講義を行い、九州エリア全体の工業地帯を見学します。
その一環として、学生たちは新日鐵(株)製鉄所を見学することになっているので、製鉄プロセスの基礎について講義をしたり、研究室を見学してもらうように手配しました。
2017年に開始された本プログラムは、「クイーンズランド大学-九州大学オセアニアプロジェクト(UQ-KUプロジェクト)」と呼ばれる両大学の交流プロジェクトの重要なパートになっています。
On November 28th, the Department of Materials at Kyushu University welcomed a group of students from the School of Mechanical & Mining Engineering at the University of Queensland (UQ), Australia 🇦🇺
This visit was part of the short-term program “The University of Queensland-Japan Program for Industry Experience (UQ-JPIE) .”
The students are given lectures at Kyushu University and tour industrial areas throughout Kyushu Area.
As part of the program, the students are going to tour the Nippon Steel Corporation steelworks, so I gave them a lecture on the basics of the steelmaking process and arranged for them to take a tour of our lab.
This program, which started in 2017, is a key part of the exchange project between both universities, known as “The University of Queensland – Kyushu University Oceania Project (UQ-KU Project).”
