九州大学伊東キャンパスにおいて、高大連携イベント「QFC-SPリサーチ」の最終報告会👨‍🏫と修了式🎓が開催されました。
高校生でありながら、15ヶ月の研究期間で大学の卒業論文レベルの成果を発表しました👍
このイベントは、日本の高校教育では馴染みの薄い工学分野を学生に知ってもらうだけでなく、材料工学の研究を志す若手人材の確保を目的としています。
私が担当した学生は、マイクロ波加熱技術を乾式製錬に応用する研究を行っており、学会でも優秀な発表を行っていました。
次は春の日本金属学会で発表してもらう予定です。

On March 3rd, the final report session 👨‍🏫 and the closing ceremony 🎓 of the high school and university collaboration event “QFC-SP Research” were held at Ito campus in Kyushu university.
Despite being a high school students, they presented results at the level of a university bachelor’s thesis in a 15-month research period 👍
The purpose of this event is not only to introduce students to the field of engineering, which is not very familiar to Japanese high school education, but also to secure young human resources who want to pursue material engineering research in our field.
The student I worked with conducted research on the application of microwave heating technology to pyrometallurgical smelting, and he also gave excellent presentations at academic conferences.
We will have him presentation at the Japan Society of Metals Research in the spring.
