2026年最初の国際ゲストとして、韓国・仁荷大学（Inha University）の Hyunjin Yang 准教授を九州大学・大野研究室にお迎えしました。

当日は、大野研究室の研究活動紹介とラボツアーを行い、

脱炭素製鉄や水素利用プロセスといった研究テーマについて意見交換を行いました。

それに加えて、今回の訪問では研究内容そのものだけでなく、

  • 修士課程の学生をどのように博士課程へとつなげていくか

  • 博士課程で何を身につけ、どのようなキャリアパスが開けるのか

といった **「次世代研究者の育成」**をテーマに、率直で実践的な議論が交わされました。

国際交流は、論文発表や共同研究にとどまらず、

学生一人ひとりの将来の選択肢を広げ、研究に向き合う視野を大きくしてくれます。

材料工学、冶金、脱炭素製鉄に関心のある学生の皆さん、

「研究を本気でやってみたい」「博士課程も少し気になる」

Welcoming Our First International Guest of 2026

On January 6, 2026, we welcomed Assoc. Prof. Hyunjin Yang (Inha University, Korea) to the Ohno Laboratory at Kyushu University as our first international guest of the year.

During his visit, we introduced our research activities and laboratories, and discussed topics such as decarbonized ironmaking and hydrogen-based processes.

In addition, we had open discussions on how to encourage master’s students to advance to PhD programs and what skills and career paths doctoral education can offer.

International exchange plays an essential role not only in research collaboration, but also in educating and inspiring the next generation of researchers.

Students interested in materials science, metallurgy, and advanced research careers are always welcome to visit our laboratory and learn more.
