近畿甲寅会にて、九州大学 材料工学科の近況報告を行いました。
この一年間の人事動向や学生の進路状況、さらに国際連携の加速について共有し、学科としての現在地と今後の方向性をお伝えしました。
会場では、自身の研究室を巣立っていった歴代OBの皆さんとも再会することができ、
近況を語り合う中で、懐かしくも温かな時間を過ごしました。
研究や教育は日々アップデートされていきますが、
こうした場を通じて世代を超えて人がつながり続けることの大切さ、
そしてそのネットワークが学科や研究室を支えていることを、あらためて実感しました。
これから材料工学を志す学生の皆さんへ
材料工学科の学びは、在学中だけで完結するものではありません。
卒業後も続く人とのつながりが、研究・産業・社会へと広がっていきます。
Alumni Gathering at the Kinki Koin-Kai — Sharing Updates from Materials Engineering
At the Kinki Koin-Kai alumni meeting, I had the opportunity to present recent updates from the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Kyushu University.
I shared information on faculty and staff developments, student career paths, and the rapid expansion of international collaboration over the past year, highlighting the current direction of the department.
It was also a pleasure to reconnect with many alumni from my laboratory, exchanging memories and updates in a warm and relaxed atmosphere.
The experience once again reminded me of the power of human connections that transcend generations.
For current and prospective students, materials engineering is not only about what you learn during your university years.
It is also about becoming part of a long-lasting community—one that continues to support research, industry, and society well beyond graduation.
